Process Control Block (PCB) :

To control the various processes the Operating  

        System maintains a table called the process table. The process table contains one  

        entry per process. These entries are referred to as “Process Control Block”. It

        contains many piece of information relatedwith a specific process including the:-  

        Process Number, Process State, Program Counter, CPU Registers, CPU Scheduling  

        Information, Memory management Information, Accounting Information, and I/O  

 

        Status Information.
